Jean-Claude BiseniusJean-Claude Bisenius serves as a Managing Director of atrexx. He is responsible for Product Development, Technology and Marketing.
During the first 10 years of his professional career, Mr. Bisenius worked in senior R&D and marketing positions for leading industry and service companies, including the TV studio equipment division of Robert Bosch GmbH, Wilhelm Sihn jr. KG (WISI), one of the world's top broadcast, satellite and cable television equipment manufacturers and ASTRA Marketing GmbH, the marketing arm of the leading European satellite operator SES. Thereafter Jean-Claude set up bisenius teleconsult, a management consultancy and executive search company for the information technology, telecommunications and electronic media industries. Seven years later the company merged into the international VisionConsult with offices in Germany, UK, and US. As a managing director of VisionConsult's German branch, Jean-Claude’s focus was on strategic consulting and on business incubation services for high-tech, multimedia and Internet start-ups.
Mr Bisenius is author and co-author of several books on Digital Video Broadcasting, the future prospects of broadband cable TV systems, Mobile Multimedia and numerous articles on these subjects. His further education was comprised of a Master of Science in Telecommunications course at the University of Essex in Colchester, UK, a Diploma in Electronics (Dipl.-Ing.) from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the European business school INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
Markus SchäferAs a Managing Director of atrexx, Markus Schäfer focuses on Sales, Financial Accounting and Logistics.
Mr. Schäfer began his professional career as a Product Manager in the Satellite TVRO industry. He then joined the Association of Private Broadcasters (VPRT), representing Germany’s leading commercial TV and radio broadcasting companies. Markus was responsible for the evaluation of innovative technologies, including Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB), Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), SWIFT, Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT) and Business TV and Internet via TV. Based on comprehensive analyses and concerted initiatives with key market players he formulated strategies for market introduction, in order to secure new income streams to the member broadcasters. In this function, Markus Schäfer was promoted to the Director of Media Technology – New Services, and was from now also in charge of responding to regulatory plans.
Thereafter Markus acted as CEO of Bonner Gruppe, a consulting company for Satellite Broadcast Management, Business Development and Sales Support for the Broadcasting and the Electronic Publishing industries. Clients included global telecommunications companies. As a Satellite Sales Manager of Belgacom S.A. he very successfully expanded the company's customer base for satellite TV and radio services as well as VSAT services on inclined orbit satellites. Together with technical support, Mr. Schäfer designed sophisticated turn-key solutions and optimized these solutions for cost-effectiveness. Thus Internet and Multimedia over Satellite became a strong alternative to terrestrial networks for ISPs and corporations in need for high quality connectivity to the Internet backbone.
Mr Schäfer is co-author of several books including the future prospects of broadband cable TV systems. He graduated as a Business Engineer (Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing) from the technical university FH-Technik in Esslingen, Germany.
