iDirect based networks support VPN applications. An iDirect satellite router with AES option, e.g. iNFINITY 5150, performs AES encryption of the traffic from the remote station.
Alternatively, if a corporation prefers to use their standard VPN equipment they can do so. In this case an iDirect network accelerator is inserted before encryption takes place. This enables the deployment of VPN solutions over satellite without loss of TCP performance and allows real-time secured applications such as VoIP and streaming video.
